The Society of American Military Engineers will help defray costs for high school students nominated to attend an Army, Marine Corps or Air Force hands-on engineering and construction camps, according to SAME.
SAME’s Kittyhawk Post in Fairborn will nominate one student for each camp and cover half the registration fee and all travel costs, the organization said.
The camps include the U.S. Army Camp in Vicksburg, Miss., and U.S. Marine Corps
Camp in Camp Lejeune, N.C., both of which are scheduled June 19-25; and the Air Force Academy Camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., set for July 7-13, 2016
Students should have a strong background in math, science and technical courses and want to pursue a career in engineering, architecture or related fields, according to the organization.
