ALBANY, GA (WALB)- Lots of young people gathered in downtown Albany on Saturday to march and raise awareness about violence.
Members of Youth Against Violence marched from the corner of Oglethrope and Radium Springs to Zion Pure Life Church on Moultrie Road.
Participants in the march say they want to send the message that violence is not the answer.
The kids and parents hope the march will make an impact.
"A lot of children in gangs and selling drugs. We can encourage our friends to do something like this so we can stop the violence," said Kaytlyn Simmons.
"I want my kids as well as the rest of the young kids to realize that there's something better than violence. I want them to know violence is not the answer," said Anthony Trappier.
This is the 12th year for the march.
